Challenger Series
Regular, structured doubles competition across four divisions, with a Masters finale. Here's everything you need to know. Dates for Challenger Round 1 will be announced here.
The BD Padel Challenger Series is a recurring annual doubles competition: 6 Challenger events through the year, finishing with the Challenger Masters. You compete against players of a similar level in one of four divisions, decided by the BD Padel National Ranking.
It's built for players who want regular, structured competition without committing to a long league or constantly chasing challenges on a ladder. BD Padel doesn't book courts: you arrange each match with your opponents, at a club and time that suits you both, but every match has a deadline, so the competition always moves forward.
- Each Challenger Round is a 10–12 day group stage: register for the rounds you want with any partner.
- There are no knockouts in a Challenger Round. Every round awards Challenger points to each player, building season standings per division.
- Only your best 4 of 6 results count, so you can miss events and still compete for the top.
- After the last Challenger Round, the top 16 players in each division qualify for the Masters.

Points awardedWhen every group match is played, each group's final table is set and every player receives Challenger points for their group position. There is no overall winner and no knockout. The round is complete.
Matches not played by the deadline are flagged to the organisers, who may award a walkover.
Men's has four divisions, based on your National Ranking. Women's and Mixed each have one open division for every team.
| Men's division | Level | National Ranking |
|---|---|---|
| A | Advanced | 1–20 |
| B | Upper Intermediate | 21–40 |
| C | Lower Intermediate | 41–60 |
| D | Developing | 61+ & unranked players |
- In Men's, a team plays in the division of its higher-ranked player (e.g. ranked 15 + ranked 48 → Division A).
- Your division is fixed on the day you register for each Challenger Round, so it can change between rounds as your ranking moves.
- Teams can't play below their eligible division. Organisers may adjust a division where the ranking doesn't reflect a player's level.
- Challenger points stay in the division where you earned them.
- Groups of 3 or 4 teams, e.g. 8 → 2×4, 9 → 3×3, 10 → 4+3+3, 12 → 3×4, 16 → 4×4
- Every team plays everyone in its group once: 2 matches in a group of 3, 3 in a group of 4
- The draw tries to avoid opponents you've already faced this season
- Best of 3 sets, normal sets to 6
- Tiebreak at 6–6 · Golden point at deuce
- At one set all, the final set is a normal set, not a match tiebreak
- Match wins
- Head-to-head (two teams tied)

Challenger Rounds are group stage only. Points are awarded for your finishing position in your group. Both players receive the same points, recorded against each player, so you can change partners between rounds.
National Ranking Points: Challenger Series ranks will be converted into National Ranking Points at a ratio that is to be decided (TBD). The conversion will be applied after the last Challenger Round of the series.
- Separate season standings for every division in every category.
- Your best 4 Challenger results count towards your total. All results are shown.
- The standings show each Challenger's points, your best-4 total, total points and events played, plus where you stand for Masters qualification.
The best players of the season meet in the Masters, the only Challenger event with knockout rounds. The Masters will also earn National Ranking Points, similar to our leagues and tournaments. The points will be decided later.
Masters partnership details will be announced before the event.
